The Hotels

I translated the letters in these hotels.  Every room I used had an ocean view, and while I can't believe that was by accident, I don't know what it means.

Oceana

This was a nice one, but I guess they were all kind of nice.  It just seemed fancier to the rest, although I can only judge by the room.  It was always the same room.

Shangri-La

Great place to write, I can say that!  The rooms varied, and I liked both the architecture and the Art Deco design.

The Georgian

This one is a little older than the rest, I think.  It's more traditional.  Curiously, this was the hotel the Man with the Chrysanthemum chose when I translated a letter with significant information about the Party, which leads me to believe the hotel was, in some way, more secure.

Loews

This is a very classy place.  This is the kind of place Frank Sinatra or Joan Rivers would stay.

Shutters

This is where they put the letter writer for his/her first night in town.  I liked it best because it really is on the beach and I could walk right out, take off my shoes, and walk around in sand.  That might not sound impressive, but for most people in Santa Monica, the beach isn't as close as a map would make you think.
